The Bristorm fence is a wire rope vehicle security barrier designed to meet the specific threat of penetrative / ram attack by Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED).
Bristorm 30, 40, 50 and LP comprise of substantial main anchors, galvanized steel wire ropes and lightweight line posts, the Bristorm fence can withstand vehicle ramming attacks at 90˚ to the fence line, absorbing the energy of the impact before repelling the vehicle and maintaining vital stand-off distance.
Bristorm IVP fence provides an unrivalled range of anti-vehicle and anti-personnel performance within a very narrow fence line. By bringing the Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) of Bristorm fence and anti-personnel protection into a single foundation, without altering the performance of either system.
The Bristorm Beam comprises of a double height of a specially developed corrugated beam combined with wire ropes.
The efficient wire rope technology creates a barrier that appears lightweight but actually offers a very high level of protection. The simple open design allows uninterrupted line of sight beyond the perimeter, enabling other security measures to monitor threats without compromising the high level of protection.
Bristorm ropes require little or no maintenance over the lifetime of the product. Annual visual inspection and a tension check every five years are all that is recommended.
Available in four PAS 68 tested levels, the Bristorm fence can provide protection up to a 7,500kg truck travelling at 50mph (80km/h). By tailoring fence levels to the specific threats faced by a site, a highly economical perimeter can be developed without compromising on protection. The results of a site threat assessment can be used to determine the high risk areas and the fence level increased locally as a counter measure, protecting the site at the minimum cost.
